Organic. Non-GMO. All Natural. 100% Natural. Free Range. Processed. Minimally Processed. Whole.  What on earth do all of these marketing terms really mean?  And what do they have to do with the foods we eat?  Packaged foods are convenient, cheap, and fast. However they aren’t always the healthier option. There are many more cons than pros to choosing packaged food. While grocery shopping- there are some key things to look out for just by looking at the ingredient label. Mostly, the length of the ingredient label.  Students will have the opportunity to be more involved in the grocery store by understanding the most important things to watch out for when purchasing packaged foods and how they can be harmful to their health.

This Healthy Hands Cooking class will teach students about our food supply chain, the decline of our food’s nutritional impact, and why some of the foods we eat today may actually be harmful to our health. We’ll also create delicious and wholesome great-tasting recipes to complement and sample in class.
